Welcome to the Here Lyes the Body Stitchalong!
The Here Lyes the Body Stitchalong begins on September 1, 2026 and runs through October 31, 2026. The stitchalong features early American gravestone art from the 1600s through 1799.
Calendar:
September 1, 2026: Gravestone frame pattern is released
October 1 - 31, 2026: Gravestone artwork motifs to fill up the frame are released daily.
Pattern:
The pattern features a frame shaped like an early American gravestone, as well as 31 smaller gravestone motifs from the era placed inside the frame in a modern style.
About stitchalongs
If you have never participated in a stitchalong, you are in for a lot of fun! A stitchalong is a group activity where people are stitching the same pattern together and sharing their progress with each other. This stitchalong is a mystery stitchalong, which means that you will not see the pattern in its entirety until the last piece is released on October 31. Each weekly pattern release will be a surprise! For many people, that anticipation is part of the fun! If you don't like surprises, you may want to wait until October 31 when the entire pattern has been released to start stitching--it's entirely up to you.

Receiving pattern pieces
Pattern pieces will be emailed to you when released. The frame will be emailed on 9/1/26 and individual motif patterns will be emailed daily from October 1-31, 2026.
Recommended fabric:
This pattern is designed to be stitched on medium colored fabric. PLEASE AVOID USING WHITE, CREAM OR BLACK FABRIC. The stitched design is entirely in light to dark gray and will not show up well on these backgrounds. The pattern is 119 by 154 stitches and it measures 8.5" x 11" on 14-count fabric.
Recommended colorway from Witch’s Garden Crafts is “Cemetery Stroll” which was dyed specifically to complement this pattern.

The pattern measures 119 x 154 stitches
Stitched sizes are as shown below:
- 14 count fabric: 8.5"x11" (recommended fabric size is 14"x 17")
- 16-count fabric: 7.5"x9.5" (recommended fabric size is 13"x 16")
- 18-count fabric: 6.5"x8.5" (recommended fabric size is 12.5"x14.5")
Floss Guide:
Materials + Care
This aida is 100% cotton and hand-dyed with environmentally safe dyes. Your new fabric is shipped to you freshly washed and ironed, prewashing is not required. All dyed fabric may bleed slightly but darker colors are the most likely to bleed. After stitching, if washing is required, please use only cold water and gentle soap. Blot dry and lay out flat to dry. For darker colors, use a color catching sheet when washing.

Orders are shipped within 1-2 weeks. Returns are accepted within 30 days of purchase for a full refund of the purchase price (shipping is non-refundable). The fabric must be in new condition.
